Job Overview: This senior level executive leads Building Peaceful Bridges (BPB), ensuring it is capable of delivering on its current strategic plan, operating plan and long-term vision. The CEO ensures that BPB operates in strict compliance with the Board of Directors (Board) policies in pursuit of meeting/exceeding annual operating plan and budget, and strategic plan. The CEO has primary responsibility for the organization’s individual, corporate, community and foundation fundraising strategies, programs, and stewardship.
Primary Responsibilities:
Executive Leadership and Organizational Management – 25% of time
- Provide thoughtful and visionary leadership that is inclusive, transparent, and empowering to support and guide the organization’s Board, volunteers and staff to achieve performance toward stated goals.
- Engage stakeholders in developing an annual operating budget/plan and long-range strategic plans to further the organization’s mission impact. .
- Ensure organization adheres to Board policies and is operating in accordance with all relevant governance, legal/regulatory and nonprofit best practices.
Development and Fundraising - 50% of time
- Develop fundraising programs (family sponsorships, campaigns, house-parties, benefits, events) to introduce and engage new donors in the BPB mission.
- Work with the Event Team to continue to build into existing signature fundraising events.
- Develop world-class stewardship programs to further optimize BPB’s individual, foundation, faith-based organizations and corporate supporters year over year.
- Research community, corporate, and family foundations for mission alignment and potential funding opportunities.
- Leverage existing donors and Board member relationships in identifying new donor prospects for supporting the BPB mission.
Board Governance – 10% of time
- Participate in Board meetings – reporting on performance to BPB Plan and other essential internal/external updates necessary for the Board to fulfill its Agenda objectives and responsibilities. Provide guidance and direction.
- Work closely with the Board President to recruit, on-board, and coach Board members in fulfillment of their personal and collective Board responsibilities.
External Relations and Communications – 15% of time
- Represent the organization and serve as chief spokesperson at events, conferences, and partnership meetings.
- Advocate for BPB’s vision and mission with key external stakeholders, including government agencies, business and community groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Training, experience, or advanced degree preferred in business, public administration, or management. 10 years of high-level management and leadership experience in an operational environment. Nonprofit management and/or Board leadership experience strongly desired.
- Experienced in planning and visioning, program and policy development and growing an organization’s impact while managing the expense budget.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing fundraising programs to meet or exceed fundraising goals in the range of $500,000 to $1,000,000.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to an ever-changing field of operation. Understanding or experience in the areas of immigration and government policies is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP and interpreting financial statements.
- Demonstrates servant-leadership and has a proven track record of successfully working with donors and Board volunteers.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Drive; working knowledge of computer-based accounting systems.
Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
