Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services (CCH&HS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our independent 25-bed critical access hospital. This full-time, salaried position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a non-profit setting dedicated to delivering quality healthcare to the Panhandle of Nebraska and surrounding areas.
About Us: Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services is committed to providing comprehensive medical and surgical care, obstetrics and newborn care, emergency services, and rehabilitation. Our services are enhanced by a network of visiting specialists and extend to include Prairie Pines Lodge for independent and assisted living, Western Community Health Resources for family planning and behavioral health, and Legend Buttes Health Services in Crawford, Nebraska.
Position Overview: The CEO will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of Chadron Community Hospital & Health Services. This role demands a leader who exemplifies our mission and values through effective communication, innovation, and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall operation and financial performance of the hospital, including general operations, planning, compliance, and quality patient care.
- Direct and coordinate activities across all organizational units, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement the annual operating plan aligned with the strategic goals of CCH&HS.
- Maintain current knowledge of healthcare administration trends and provide leadership to hospital personnel, the Board of Trustees, and medical staff.
- Supervise hospital employees, medical professionals, and contracted staff, ensuring effective performance and development.
- Negotiate professional contracts and manage staffing levels to optimize patient care and support services.
- Develop policies and procedures, maintain a safe and clean facility, and ensure compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a hospital or critical access hospital setting.
- Prior CEO experience highly preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hospital operations, regulations, and guidelines.
- Proven experience in leading professional staff, engaging community partners, and working with a Board of Trustees.
